About the Topics

As the U.S. Supreme Court’s term comes to an end, find out how the nine justices and their federal and state counterparts shaped planning over the last year. Learn about the legal precedents set in the last year by Congress, state legislatures, and ballot box initiatives. Hear from legal experts how to deal with organized challenges to long-standing planning tools. A program the planning director, planning commission, and staff cannot afford to miss.

The Ethics section is built on a skit depicting a government planner's reactions to pressures.  It will illustrate pertinent sections of the APA Code of Ethics. The exercise will provide hands on examination of the Code by the participants and subsequent small group discussions for the participants on the various ethical dilemmas in the skit. The exercise will culminate in a large group discussion led by Terry Harrington to reinforce the overall learning experience. Terry is the AICP Commissioner for Region II and an APA Nationally recognized Ethics presenter.

THIS PRESENTATION SHOULD FULFILL YOUR ETHICS AND LAW AICP CM REQUIREMENTS

This session counts for 1.5 CM for Law (with APA National as the provider), and the Delaware Chapter has applied for an additional 1.5 CM for the Ethics part of the session with Terry Harrington, an APA Nationally recognized Ethics presenter.  Total possible CM credits: 3.0
