ABOUT DELAPAThe Delaware Chapter works to involve planners in the APA in Delaware and the region. We serve as your local source for networking and professional development. The Chapter gives you a chance to share experiences with colleagues and broaden your perspective beyond your commission or office. When you join APA, you automatically become a member of the Delaware APA chapter. The Delaware Chapter of the APA holds an annual meeting, educational workshops, AICP exam preparation courses, assists AICP exam candidates, and produces a chapter newsletter and journal. We also conduct legislative programs, sponsor local official and planning commissioner training workshops, and conduct public information campaigns. The Chapter bylaws as revised in 2008, in PDF form, are available here. The current membership of the Chapter executive committee can be found here. THE APAThe American Planning Association and its professional institute, the American Institute of Certified Planners, are organized to advance the art and science of planning and to foster the activity of planning--physical, economic, and social--at the local, regional, state, and national levels. The objective of the Association is to encourage planning that will contribute to public well-being by developing communities and environments that meet the needs of people and of society more effectively. |
